Focus Sessions

Oral Sessions may last up to 180 minutes.
Poster Sessions within this format may last up to 45 minutes.
Oral presentations use 10 minutes plus 2 minutes of Q&A by default; conveners may make minor adjustments after registration.
Each Poster may receive a 3-minute introduction before the open discussion.

Lightning Sessions

Oral presentations use 3 minutes plus 2 minutes of Q&A and are held consecutively.
Each presentation may use no more than four slides in PPTX or PDF format.
The format is intended for concise research ideas, projects and preliminary results.
Remaining Session time is reserved for open discussion and informal exchange among presenters and participants.

Workshops

Workshops may last up to 180 minutes.
Workshop moderators set the presentation lengths, with a maximum of 7 minutes per presentation.
At least one third of the Workshop is reserved for discussion and active exchange.
Methods may include group work, demonstrations, round tables or co-creation.

Synthesis Workshops

Synthesis Workshops may last up to 180 minutes and combine short introductions with comprehensive discussion of overarching questions.
They are scheduled after the Focus Sessions assigned to the Workshop.
Conveners of the assigned Focus Sessions are invited to report their Session outcomes briefly at the beginning.
The remaining time is used to compare results, identify common conclusions and formulate next steps.

Side Events

Event thematically connected to the conference but organised by a third party.
Content, methods and target groups remain flexible.
Participation may be invitation-only, limited to conference participants or public with optional external registration.
The format may include excursions or field trips and may provide drinks or snacks.
Conference organisers support coordination, while the third party remains responsible for the event.
